Make an Oversized Sweater That Stays Put

Oversized sweaters look easy and relaxed on the model, then slide and sag at the shoulders once you’ve made one. This one is shaped to sit neatly on your shoulders while the body stays roomy and cozy.

Ribbed panels follow the slope of your shoulders, so the loose fit still looks tidy and put together.
After the shoulders, most of the work is calm stockinette in the round.

• A relaxed fit with a clean top line. The shoulder ribbing keeps the oversized shape from looking sloppy, and the tall ribbed collar adds warmth.
• Nothing to sew together at the end. The fronts are worked from the back’s shoulders, then everything joins and the body and sleeves are worked in the round.
• Less guessing on fit. Designed for 8" to 11¾" of positive ease, with simple places to lengthen the sleeves and collar as you go. The instructions have been technically edited.
