What is inside the pattern?

An English pattern with fully written directions, charts, a schematic and instructions for customising the size. A video tutorial demonstrates the dip stitches.

The asymmetric triangle begins with a small number of stitches and develops through foliage, berry and lavender textures before a garter section. Beads at the bind-off are optional.

Is this the right project for me?

Intermediate. Choose this project if you enjoy textured stitch work, following charts or written directions, and shaping a shawl in rows. The foliage uses dip stitches, with a video tutorial to help you learn the movement.

The changing sections make this a project for enjoying the details. Make a small swatch first if dip stitches are new to you, and check the blocked gauge before choosing your final dimensions.

Finished size & fit

The sample has a blocked top-edge wingspan of approximately 122 cm / 48 in. It is an asymmetric triangle worked sideways, so the two outer edges have different lengths.

A medium version is provided, with instructions for adapting the size. Repeat choices, yarn weight, gauge and blocking affect the result; allow additional yarn if you plan a larger wrap.

Materials you will need

Sample yarn: approximately 612 m / 670 yd of Walk Collection Cozy Kid Merino, a fingering-weight blend of 56% superwash merino and 44% kid mohair, 360 m per 100 g. Two skeins were used for the sample.

An 80 cm / 32 in or longer circular needle, used for flat knitting; the sample gauge uses 3 mm needles. Yarn needle, blocking pins or wires, and one stitch marker.

Optional finishing: 43 size 6/0 beads. A bead may be placed with a crochet hook or dental floss threader; it can also be omitted. For a firmer garter finish, a needle 0.12–0.5 mm smaller is an option.

Lavender Lace Triangle Shawl Knitting Pattern

Lavender Lace Triangle Shawl Knitting Pattern

The pattern changes as your garden grows.

Leaf-like dip stitches lead into a more detailed landscape of berries and lavender, followed by a calmer garter section. The interest comes from how those textures sit beside one another.

Choose a shade that lets the stitch work show. The sample's fine merino-and-mohair yarn gives the finished fabric a light halo without relying on colour changes to create the motifs.

One piece, with a shape that drapes differently.

The shawl grows sideways from a few stitches into an asymmetric triangle. Drape the longer edge across your shoulders, or bring the point forward for a scarf-like finish.

At the bind-off, decide whether you want the small accent of beads or a simpler edge. The decorative choice is yours; the sample's bead placement is optional.

Gauge

25 stitches × 34 rows = 10 cm / 4 in in stockinette after soaking and blocking. Stretch, dry, unpin and let the swatch relax before measuring.

The 3 mm needle size is a starting point; adjust to match the gauge with your chosen yarn. A heavier yarn can create a different scale and will change the quantity needed.

How do I receive my pattern?

What is the refund policy?

Digital purchases are generally non-refundable. If you bought a duplicate or have a problem with your pattern, contact us and we will help.

Are the beads required?

No. The 43 size 6/0 beads are an optional finishing detail at the bind-off. You can leave them out for an unembellished edge.

Can I adjust the size or use another yarn?

Yes. Size-customisation instructions are included. Fingering yarn gives the scale shown in the sample; heavier yarn changes the look and dimensions. Swatch first and plan enough yarn for any extra repeats.
